Time Management
· Why
o Having time management is an irreplaceable resource to have. Each second that passes through the day you will not get back. As a leader you must make the most of the time in a day to accomplish your goals. Why time management is important because time is a limited resource. And also If you are organized and using your time well as a leader it can reduce the stress of yourself and the tem while you accomplish more.
· What
o In the short term to develop my time management skills I can start by trying to get a early start on assignments and not waiting to the last minute to cram everything in. I can also try and develop a system and organize things that I need to get done by importance and figure out what needs to get done first.
o Ways of developing time management for the long term is being flexible. You have to be prepared to encounter any storm as it comes your way and not have anything planned set in stone. I must learn how to problem solve and I think it goes back to prioritizing the importance of things. If I have set one hour away for doing work, I cant stop after the hour if im in the middle of a great idea. I must be flexible and be able to finish what I have on my plate.
· How
o I don’t believe you can measure the success of having time management. I believe it’s just something you acquire with practice. If you have done everything you have set out to do for today, then I think that’s a success in itself. Reaching your goals in the allotted time you have given yourself is successful time management.
· Who
o One of the only people that I know that can help me be successful in managing my time is a friend of mine named Bianca. She has always been very organized and prioritizes her time evenly. She has managed her time between opening a successful restaurant and being a real estate broker. She can assist me by showing me where to put my time and effort in some areas rather than others. She can also show me how maximize my time by getting the most done in the allotted time and striving for my goals.
Ability to Inspire
· Why
o Making your team feel invested in the accomplishments that you as leader want to reach is vital to successful leaders. It is about you and your team buying into what you have to offer and having your back in every situation. You have to inspire people and yourself and make them motivated to want to work for you to reach full potential.
· What
o Something I can do in the short term to gain the ability to help inspire people is I can watch some motivational/inspirational speakers. I can watch how they speak with groups of people and try and emulate some of their words or the way they carry themselves and try to copy them.
o Within the next 3-5 years to help further develop my inspirational speaking I could go out and practice my speaking in front of small groups of people and try to get them motivated and inspired. I could also have talks with my friends and family and try to motivate them when they are feeling down and further my skills.
· How
o I believe the only way to measure the success of acquiring a skill like being inspirational is to measure other people’s success around you. If others around are achieving their goals or trying to and are motivated by what you have done for them or said to them. Then I think that’s a pretty great way of judging if you have done a good job.
· Who
o Someone who has been inspirational and can help me reach this goal is my mother. My mom has been inspirational to me my whole life helping me through all of the hard times I have encountered. She can help me reach out to others just by following in her footsteps. She has used her words and actions to inspire me to reach for my goals. I must try and shadow her and ask where she has gained all of the confidence to be so inspirational and what makes her keep going.
Communication
· Why
o If you know what you want to accomplish it may be clear to you. Trying to explain it to someone may not always be the easiest thing to do. A successful leader is able to clearly explain the goal to their team. If you cannot relate your vision to your team you may not all be working toward the same goal.
· What
o In the short term I forecast a way that I may be able to develop better communication skills is I can be more open with people and break some of my normal habits with people. I can be more open and talk with people that I don’t usually speak to. Also talking with strangers and not being shy and just putting yourself out there. It will start by giving me confidence to hit my point across, then if I keep practicing my communication skill will get better.
o Obtaining good communication skills I believe takes a long time and something I can do within the next 3-5 years to help further obtain that skill is making a point everyday to talk to everyone around me. If its as easy as just saying hello to everyone or making myself available all time for someone to contact me to talk. I want to create a productive environment around me that stems off communication.

o A great way to judge the success of acquiring great communication skills is by being able to see if others are comfortable around you. If people are able to able to come up to you and feel open enough to have conversations with you and tell you things that they may not share with others then I think your doing a great job. Feeding off others when it comes to communication is huge. You have to be able to be approachable make other feel like they can tell you anything.

o I believe someone who will be a huge part in helping me gain better communication skill is my inspiring leader Coach K. If by watching him on a regular basis I can try to follow what he says in his press conferences or talks he gives to his team. I can use some of his techniques or lines that he uses to further my communication skills.
